Hírek a svédországi VB-ről: "We did race. Long waiting for this, but we had luck and the wind came. We had 3 Qualifier D, C, and B and can continue tomorrow with the first A Race. Wind was first around 4 m/s in D-qualifier rises to 5m/s in C-Qualifier and has at least 7m/s in the B-qualifier, but the iceconditions were tricky. The thin layer of snow works like a styropor surface and therefore the Wind could have been a little better. "Friends, hope you are getting packed up for this year's event and are looking forward to it! There is no possibility to announce the site already Wednesday, as latest weatherdevelopment has to be included in the decison. Anyway the direction of travel remains. We are considering now Saaremaa Island in Estonia as first choice and Nida in Lithuania as secondary choice. Mielno/Koszalin is forcasting plus temperatures for the following week at daytimes and therefore remains as a backup only. Helsinki area/Porvoo remains also as backup. The decision is now planned for Thursday noon 12:00. I would suggest to already move closer, if you have to travel long ways. Ferries might be pretty booked up, due to ski holidays in Sweden and Estonia. If you plan to drive through Poland please consider the driving time from Mikolajki to Saarema Island of 11-12 hours or to Nida of 7-8 hours (without trailer). Don't worry about accomodation. It is taken care of for everyone and will be announced with the final decision. See you on the Ice! JoerG-737"

It seems the current icesituation is much better most places, than it was in the last months. Even it is too early to do the call, there is some information, I like to forward already. In the past three days several sites have been checked. After I checked Poland, Lithuania I am now in Estonia. In Poland there is one possible site in Mielno next to Koszalin. In Lithuania drifts up to 11 cm make it impossible to start off in Siauliai with the event, but still it could work as an alternate. Currently the Icesituation on Saaremaa Island is the best. The weatherforcast at this point is a little bit more in favour for Saaremaa as well. For both Sites, Poland and Saaremaa there is one complete hotel reserved, that will host everybody at reasonable fares (17-24 €/Night including breakfeast bufet per person in doubleroom). Once again both hotels are very nice and have the capacity to host twice as many people. They will only open for us. Everybody will get a room! Possible Sites are also in Sweden, but weather predictions are not favouring this area at the moment. Also Finland is still considered as a backup. Ezen a hétvégén lesz a lengyel bajnokság Niegocin/Rydzewo vagy Sniardwy/Okartowo helyszínen. http://www.bojery.pl/ A magyar csapatból Hami és Hegyi Marci már el is indultak a helyszínre. Remek edzéslehetőség lesz az EB-re, mert itt gyakran erősebb a mezőny, mint a kontinens bajnokságok különböző csoportjaiban. Hajrá! Az EB 26-án kezdődik, az elsődleges helyszín: Litvánia/Siauliai.
